AUSTIN,TX, August 17, 2020 – The Washington, DC-based, non-partisan analytic firm Inside Elections included the US House TX17 congressional district race in its list of “districts (all currently rated Solid Republican) ones to watch for a Democratic upset or surprise in November.”

It based its forecast on research that shows President Trump underperforming by at least 8-10 points around the country and, although he carried TX17 in 2016, he could lose to Joe Biden in the fall. With a strong correlation between presidential and House results, it could be good news for Rick Kennedy.

Kennedy said, “I’m gratified to receive this analysis. It matches what I hear from talking to voters across the district. People are more than ready for fresh, uncompromised, steady leadership, which is not what my opponent offers.”
