AUSTIN,TX, June 19, 2020 – Statement from Rick Kennedy in honor of Juneteenth, 2020:

I wish everyone a very happy and reflective Juneteenth.

This Juneteenth falls during a significant moment, when perhaps America is finally ready to confront the police brutality, institutional racism, and structural disadvantages that have beset the African American community for decades.

On this day of celebration for the African American community, I commit that I will continue to listen, learn, and stand with you as your ally.
